How Moving To New York Changed My Life

19:17 / by the gloriously humble gadi cohen /

It didn't.

I hope people read this. I hope they understand.

Millions of individuals moved this year from one home to another. Refugees seeking shelter, workers seeking jobs, explorers seeking adventure. If you didn't move, you're lucky. Be thankful for your home, for your friends, for your life.

Moving to NY hasn't changed me because, well, because I've moved so much. This whole sphere of moving has changed me, I guess. Ten years of school, nine various schools.

Am I angry about moving so much?

No--because these hardships, these infinite and infinitesmal moments of loneliness and melancholy and reminiscing and adapting to new, uncomfortable settings have shaped me in so many ways.

The sky is so black right now. I'm looking out and I can feel the obscene darkness slowly enveloping me, tousling my clothes.

"Touch-a touch-a touch-a touch me..."
